Clair (Buck) Grout was born at rural Riverside, Iowa, the son of James and Nina Southwick Grout. He lived all his life in the Byertown area. He was married to Vyrle Moomey on August 29, 1940.
'Buck' was a member of Sharon Center United Methodist Church, a director of the Kalona Co-op Telephone Co., a member of Fellowship Lodge #549, Sharon Center, Corona Chapter #297, Order of Eastern Star, Sharon Center, and the Hills Town and Country Club.
Survivors are his wife Vyrle, one son Larry, Riverside, one daughter, Judith Runyon, Cypress, California, one granddaughter Chandra Lynn, Cypress, California, and two brothers, Jesse and Irvin, Riverside.
The family wishes to thank everyone for the kind expressions of sympathy extended to them during this time of loss.
