Former Resident Dies In Illinois

Funeral services for Gerald W. Schwimley, 64, of Arlington Heights, Illinois, were Monday, January 25, at 11 a.m. in the Sharon Center United Methodist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Peterseim Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Schwimley, formerly of Sharon Center, died Thursday, January 21, 1988, at Northwest Community Hospital, Arlington Heights, following a five-week illness.
Born July 24, 1923, in Johnson County, a son of Lee and Nora Williams Schwimley, he married Jeanne Miller on January 4, 1958, in Arlington Heights.
Mr. Schwimley was a retired Air Force Major and had worked for 30 years in marketing for the Union Oil Company. He is a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church, Palatine, Illinois, and of the Air Force Reserve.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Scott Schwimley of St. Louis, Missouri, and Neil Schwimley of Arlington Heights; one daughter, Caroline Schwimley of Arlington Heights and one sister, Mrs. Glenn H. (Marge) Miller of rural Iowa City. He was preceded in death by his parents.
