Amelia Strickler 1847-1931

Amelia Strickler, nee Zager, was born September 20, 1847 near Berlin, Germany. When she was 9 years of age her parents decided to come to America. They settled on a farm in Sharon Township.
On Nov. 11, 1867 she was united in marriage to Elias Strickler. To this union were born 4 children, Mrs. Lillian Troyer, of Kalona, Mrs. Minnie Grout, Tingley, Iowa, Mrs. Florence Miller, Iowa City, Iowa and Charles Strickler of Kalona. These together with one brother Charles Zager of Iowa City, 10 grand children and 5 great grand children survive her. Mr. Strickler, her husband, died in 1922.
Mrs. Strickler died at the home of her daughter Mrs. Joe H. Miller of Iowa City, January 28, 1931 at the age of 83 years, 4 months and 8 days. She has been a members of the Sharon Evangelical Church for many years.
