Mrs. Virginia E. Struble, 94, one of the oldest residents of Johnson county, died Wednesday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. M. C. Parsons, located in Iowa City, Iowa. She had been in good health until a few weeks ago. Infirmaties of old age cause her death.

She was born in Lawrenceburg, Ind., Dec. 8, 1835, the daughter of William Snyder, an early day contractor who worked on Old Capitol building. She settled in Iowa City with her parents in 1839 and has resided in Scott township, near Iowa City, her entire life. She married John T. Struble in 1849. He preceded her in death 13 years ago.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. A. W. Hindman and Mrs. M. C. Parsons, of Iowa city; five sons, Harley, of Ft. Collins, Colo., Elmer of West Liberty, Dr. L. W. Struble of Davenport, George of Spokane, Wash., and John of Iowa City. Two children preceded her in death. One half brother, W. E. C. Foster, and a grandson, Harvey Denton of Iowa City also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Oathout Chapel, Iowa City, with the Rev. Guy H. Findley in charge.

Burial was in Oakland cemetery at Iowa City.
