J. W. Jacobs, 66, a long-time Johnson county resident, died at 12:10 p.m. Monday at his home at Iowa City. He had been ill with pneumonia for the last five days.

He was born in Newport township June 17, 1863, and lived in Johnson county all his life with the exception of four years. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lena M. Jacobs, two children, E. E. Jacobs and Mrs. Nora Beard, both of Iowa City. One brother, George Jacobs, of Clayton, Mich.; and one sister, Emma Weber, of Kansas City, Mo., and seven grandchildren also survive.
