Douglas F. Sharp, 87, of 15 Silvercrest Place died Friday, January 28, 2005 following a sudden illness.

No services are planned. Memorials may be directed to the charity of your choice.

Douglas was born May 7, 1917 in Providence, Rhode Island, the son of Archibald and Alberta Sproul Sharp. He married Marie Leriche on November 7, 1941 in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Douglas served in the US Navy, both in the military and civil service. He loved to sail his boat and golf following his retirement. Douglas and his wife moved to Iowa City from Roseville, California in August, 2004.

He is survived by his wife of Iowa City; one daughter Jamie Sharp of Iowa City; two brothers Lloyd and Allen.
