Jean A. Ollendick, 64 of 220 Brady Street Hills, Iowa died Saturday, January 22, 2005 at her home.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 am on Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hills, Iowa. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the Church. A parish vigil service will be held at 7:30 pm. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Iowa City Hospice.

Jean was born April 10, 1940 in Kendallville, Iowa the daughter of Willard and Gladys (Headington) Trouten. She attended country school in Winneshiek county and graduated from Cresco High School in 1958. On April 30, 1960 she married Charles Ollendick in Cresco, Iowa.

Jean’s family and her church were most important in her life. For over 35 years she served as Church sacristan and she took great pride and pleasure in arranging the flowers on the alter. Jean’s grandchildren always came first. Her other hobbies included crafts, painting, gardening and flower arranging.

She is survived by her husband Charles of Hills, Iowa by her children, David Ollendick and his wife Dede; Karen Karr and her husband Daniel. By her six grandchildren: Jonathan, Joshua, Andrea, Dillon, Brian, and Michael. brothers and sisters: Duane Trouten and his wife Bonnie of Holiday, Florida, Arnold Trouten of Kendallville, Iowa, Jack Trouten and his wife Eileen of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Lois Ollendieck and her husband Richard of Cresco, Iowa, Martha Hruska and her husband Duane of Kendallville, Iowa, Mary Hovey and her husband Gary of Kendallville, Iowa; one daughter-in-law, Samra Ollendick of Hills, Iowaa; one daughter-in-law, Samra Ollendick of Hills, Iowa. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Her parents Willard and Gladys, her three sons, Wayne, Edward and Joseph, her brothers, George and Johnny, and one sister, Mabel all preceded her in death.
