Howard H. Searl, 67 of Coralville died Sunday, August 30, 2015, in the Mercy Hospital Hospice Unit in Iowa City. Howard had lost his final battle.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at the Memory Gardens Mausoleum, with military honors provided. Online condolences may be sent for his family through the web @ www.gayandciha.com.

Howard Harrison Searl was born on February 12, 1948 in East Moline, Illinois. His family moved to Iowa City where he graduated from City High in 1966. At the age of 18, Howard enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and served four years in active duty during the Vietnam War. Howard was extremely proud to be a United States Marine and never regretted fighting for his country.

Howard was a loved brother of Ruthann, Mary and Thomas; a loving companion to Margie Bacon, uncle to Cody, Brielle and Darien; a great-uncle and adopted grandpa to several lucky children. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, step-father and grandparents.
Howard’s infectious laugh and ear-to-ear smile will be greatly missed by all.
