Raymond Baines, 75, of North Liberty died Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2015.

His cremated remains will be placed in the Rose Garden Columbarium at Memory Gardens in Iowa City. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service has provided cremation services, no public services will be held.

Raymond was born June 13, 1940 in Iowa City. In 1959, he served a short time in the Marine Corps. In October of 1962, he married Connie Keefer. They had two sons, Robert and Scott.

For 30 years he worked maintaining apartments, a few years he worked with heavy equipment and also spent 10 years at a local food store. Raymond served as board member and disaster coordinator for the Johnson County American Red Cross.

His family includes his wife, Connie; sons, Robert of Dallas, TX and Scott of Fairfield, IA; brothers, David, Dale Ames, Terry, Bart, Carl and Dale Baines; sisters, Jean Donley and Bea Cihla.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Opal Lester and brothers, John, Charles, Fred, Amil, Danny and Jack.
