Richard E. “Rich” Snider, 53, of Coralville, died suddenly on Friday, July 31, 2015 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

A Celebration of Rich’s life will begin Wednesday at 1:30 pm at Lensing Funeral Service in Iowa City. Pastor Jeff Tackaberry will lead the celebration. Military honors will be performed at the beginning of the service. Instead of flowers and plants, memorials may be directed to The Richard Snider Memorial Fund.

Rich was born November 18, 1961 in Iowa City, the son of Frank E. & Carol L. (Gould) Snider. Growing up in Iowa City, he graduated from Iowa City West High School in 1980.

Rich served in the US Army from 1986 to 1992 and married Tina Bedient on September 7, 1996 in Iowa City. He currently worked at the University of Iowa Hospitals as a Central Sterilization Tech 1.

Some of his hobbies included taking his dog Manny for walks, playing sports with his daughters, and going to car shows with his daughters. He also enjoyed taking day trips with family.
Some favorite past times were watching football, watching lacrosse and playing with his daughters, cars and motorcycles. Rich enjoyed watching Kurt Warner play for the Cardinals and also enjoyed going to Kernel’s games with family.

He loved his cars, anything auto related, was always proud of serving in the military, worked really hard on earning his degree to become a respiratory therapist, loved classic rock, loved to travel and go different places - which is a huge reason why we think he joined the Army!

He loved watches and he loved athletic shoes – especially Nikes and Adidas. His favorite gum was red hot / Big Red, he loved oranges and also worked at Duds n’ Suds for awhile.

Survivors include his wife, Tina; daughters, Aeris Snider and Adrianna Snider and Brittany (Steven) Anderson; grandchildren, Sophia, Kendrick and Sierra; his brother, Scott (Debbi) Snider and his mother, Carol Snider of Coralville.

His father Frank and an infant brother preceded him in death.
