Jackie D. Giebeck, 61, of Coralville, passed away Monday, July 27, 2015 at Mercy Hospital, Hospice Unit.

At his request private family services will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Wounded Warriors Project .

Jack was born on September 18, 1953 in Camp Atterbury, Indiana the son of John D. and Margie (Harmon) Giebeck. Jack served in the United States Army from 1974 to 1976 in the Vietnam War era. After disharge he graduated barber college in Davenport Iowa. He enjoyed spending time with family, especially his brother Rex, gardening, golf, playing video games and watching old movies. Jack especially loved animals.

Jack is survived by his sister Denise (Dean) Micklewright of Davenport, IA, and brother Rex Giebeck of Coralville, IA; five nieces and nephews Tyson Howell, Brandee Jackubowski, Danny and Zack Micklewright, and Bradley (Kate) Giebeck; six great nieces and nephews Tyler, Kylee, Dane, Chase, Janae, and Isaiah; and one special furry companion Ace Doodi Giebeck.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents.
