Danny Richard Neider, 52 of 2218 Hollywood Blvd., Iowa City, Iowa died Monday, January 26, 2004 surrounded by his family and friends at Mercy Hospital after a brief illness.

A Celebration of Dan’s life will be held on Saturday from 1:00 to 5:00pm at the Iowa City V.F.W. on Hwy 6. He chose to be cremated. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or Iowa City Hospice.

Danny was born July 7, 1951 in Iowa City, Iowa the son of Paul Thomas and Delores (Calkins) Neider. He graduated in 1969 from City High School. He served in the United States Navy during the Viet Nam War. He has worked as a sheet metal worker at the University of Iowa for thirty two years. Dan was a devout member of A.A. and N.A. He was a member of the Second Chance Motorcycle Club-Southern Chapter, and an avid hunter, fisherman and camper. He enjoyed motorcycles, leather work and his favorite loves were his animals; his lab Mirah and his two special cats.

He is survived by his mother, Delores Neider of Iowa City, Iowa; one sister Terrie Kendall of Iowa City, Iowa; one nephew, Kirs Neider of Chicago, Illinois and one niece, Blair Frantz of Iowa City, Iowa. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Neider.
