Juanita M. Lovetinsky 73, of 4433 Sioux Ave. S.E. in Iowa City, died at her home from cancer on Monday, January 26, 2004.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 am Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Reverend Kenneth Kuntz officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4:30 to 8:00 PM at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service where a parish wake service will be held at 7:00 PM. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Iowa City, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to Iowa City Hospice or St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Juanita was born September 9, 1930 in Johnson County, Iowa the daughter of Leo and Edna (Seering) Fountain She attended schools in Lone Tree and graduated from Iowa City High School. On October 12, 1950, she married Robert G. Lovetinsky at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Iowa City. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Iowa City Women of the Moose, Chapter 509 and the River Valley Club.

She is survived by her husband, Robert of Iowa City, her children & their families; Dan Lovetinsky & his wife Mary of Iowa City & their children Bryan, Nicole and Jennifer; Diane Slaughter and her husband Keith of Iowa City & their children Shaun & Lindsey; Katherine Jo Payne & her husband Kirk of Rochester, Minnesota & their children Calla, Hilary, Elizabeth & Hannah; Robert G. Lovetinsky, Jr. of Iowa City and his daughter Crystal; Tina Wright & her husband Bill of Iowa City and their son Cassidy;
two sisters, Helen “Jeannie” Mahan and Fern Schintler & her husband Jack all of Iowa City, one brother, Paul Fountain & his wife Suzanne of North Liberty, Iowa;
and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son Jeff and one sister LaVerne Hansen.
