Robert W. Kottman, 72, of 65 Denbigh Drive in Iowa City, passed on peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Saturday, November 8, 2003.

Robert was born December 19, 1930 in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of August & Dorothy (Fischer) Kottman. He graduated from Jesup High School. He married Willadeen Smith on October 10, 1953 in Waterloo. Robert was a district manager for Jaydon Company for 30 years, retiring in 1994.

He enjoyed fishing and shared a passion with his family at the family cabin which they have kept on the Mississippi River for many years.

Robert is survived by his wife Willadeen “Butch” of Iowa City; a son Scott Kottman & his wife Laure of Cedar Rapids; a daughter Cynthia Strauch & her husband Robert of Hiawatha; three granddaughters, Stephanie, Alison & Lauren; a brother Roger Kottman & his wife Juanita of Waukegan, Illinois; a sister Joyce Osgood of Waterloo and many nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Kristen and two sisters, Jean & Lois.
