Gerald J. Quinlan, 67, of 2343 Cemetery Road NW in Oxford, died Saturday, November 8, 2003 at U of I Healthcare in Iowa City following a long illness.

Jerry was born August 23, 1936 in Oxford, the son of William & Barbara (Tomash) Quinlan. He graduated from Oxford High School in 1954. Jerry married Mary Agnes Harney on February 24, 1960 in Holbrook, Iowa. He farmed for many years & also owned and operated Quinlan Trucking. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Oxford and was a member of Greencastle Tractor Pullers. Jerry also served in the United States Army.

Survivors include his wife Mary of Oxford; three sons, Tony Quinlan & his wife Marilee of Coralville; Bill Quinlan & his wife Jean and Tom Quinlan & his wife Rachel, all of Oxford; two daughters, Katie Villhauer & her husband Jim of Oxford and Suzy Quinlan of Iowa City; 11 grandchildren, three sisters, Kathy Sippy & her husband Kenneth of Norway, Iowa, Eileen Grooms & her husband Leonard of Akron, Colorado,
RoseAnn Sippy & her husband Francis of Oxford; one brother, Larry Quinlan & his wife Jean of Marengo and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
