Dean O. Hollingsworth, 65, of 1714 Hollywood Blvd. died Dec 5, in Largo, Fla., after a long illness.

Memorial services will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the George L. Gay Funeral Home, with the Rev. Nancy English officiating. There will be no visitation. The body has been cremated. Memorial donations may be made to the Dean Hollingsworth Memorial Fund.

Mr. Hollingsworth was born on Jan 19, 1927, in Iowa City, the son of Marion and Genevieve Owen Hollingsworth. He graduated from West Branch High School. He married Sue Powell in 1945 in Aurora, Ill.

Mr. Hollingsworth lived in Iowa City and wintered in Largo, Fla. He farmed for many years near Atalissa and south of Centerdale and also was a finish carpenter.

Survivors include his wife of Iowa City; two sons, Duane and Glen, both of West Branch; a daughter, Kim Hollingsworth of Iowa City and five grandchildren.
