Joseph Glasgow

Joseph Glasgow, 84, of 306 East Jefferson Street, died this morning at Mercy Hospital following a lengthy illness.

Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Monday at St Mary's Church, with burial in the new section of St Joseph's Cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Sunday at the George L Gay Funeral Home where friends may call after 9 a.m. Sunday.

He was born October 20 1890, in Iowa City, to Michael Patrick and Mary Rhea Glasgow. He attended the University of Iowa before going into the wholesale hardware business. He married Alice Thoman Dec 7, 1917, at Iowa City.

Mr Glasgow served in World War I and was a member of St Mary's Church.

Survivors include three sons, Joseph Jr of Coralville, Bruce of Iowa City, and Keith of Texarkana, Tex; one daughter, Mrs David (Nancy) Cook, of North Ridge California; 18 grandchildren; and one great-grandson; two brothers, James of Medford, Ore., and Bernard, of Riverside; and a sister, Mrs Loretta Glascock, of Oakland.

His wife, a son, one brother and two sisters preceded him in death.
