RIVERSIDE - Mrs Bess Gorman, 85, of rural Riverside, died Wednesday after a lengthy illness at O'Fallon, Ill.

Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St Joseph's Church in Hills with burial in St Joseph's Cemetery in Iowa City. The rosary will be recited Friday at 8 a.m. In the George L Gay Funeral Home.

Mrs. Gorman was born March 8, 1886, at Cedar Rapids, the daughter of William and Ellen Galiher Neal, She was married to John Gorman in Cedar Rapids on May 18, 1909. She resided in the Hills area for the past 40 years.

Surviving are a son, William Neal Gorman of Belleville, Ill.; two daughters, Mrs Edgar (Dorothy) Strong of O'Fallon, and Mrs Howard (Ethyle) Fountain of Iowa City; 7 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and a son.
