Robert Burich 1929 - 2003

Robert L. “Bob” Burich, 74 of 3301 Chatham Place, Iowa City died peacefully at his home.

Funeral services will be Thursday 10:30 am at Lensing Funeral Service. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Lensing’s 605 Kirkwood Ave. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to City High or a charity of one’s choice. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

Robert was born April 29, 1929, the son of Victor C. and Bessie M. (Vlasak) Burich. He attended Riverside High School until he was recruited to City High to play baseball. On May 9, 1953, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Angelsberg. The couple was married in Iowa City at the First Presbyterian Church. Bob was a self-employed contractor and carpenter. He enjoyed being with his family and friends. He was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed golfing and cooking for others. Bob will be greatly missed by all.

Survivors include his wife Marilyn Burich of Iowa City; two daughters, Melanie Seeber and her husband Michael of Van Meter, Iowa, Missy Schintler and her husband Joel of Iowa City; his grandchildren: Anne, Jake and Kate Seeber, Molly, Sam and Nicholas Schintler. Special nieces and nephews also survive him: Barb Fountain, John Burich, Pat Hirt and Vicki Johnson.

His parents and two brothers, Dale and Cleo, all preceded him in death.
