Arthur D. Zimmerman, 78 of 926 12th Avenue died Friday, July 11, 2003 at his home after a lengthy illness.

Private family services will be at a later date. Arrangements are with Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service.

Mr. Zimmerman was born December 31, 1924 in Iowa City, Iowa the son of Louis A. and Euphemia L. (Stover) Zimmerman. On March 8, 1952 he was united in marriage to Margaret Johnson. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Arthur served as an Automatic Rifleman during three campaigns in Italy, with the fifth army Arthur helped turn back Germans who staged a night long attack on an outpost on the Fifth Army Front. He also served in a Quarter Depot Unit in the Phillipine Islands. He worked as a Machine Operator and Truck Driver for thirty nine years, retiring in 1991.

He is survived by his two brothers, Albert Zimmerman and his wife Elizabeth of Nashville, TN, and Virgil Zimmerman and his wife Bonnie of Marysville, CA. He is also survived by his Daughter-in-law, Nancy Frack ofBurlington, VT, and three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
