Cassandra Lea Huff, 9, of 413 S. Iowa Street, Solon, died Monday May 19, 2003 at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday, May 27, 2003 at 1:30PM at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 123 East Market Street, Iowa City. Rev. Karl Divine - Koch will officiate. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-6PM Monday at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund had been established. A reception in the church hall will follow services on Tuesday.

Cassandra Huff was born February 16, 1994 in Iowa City, Iowa the daughter of Debra E. Box and Shawn Huff. Cassie was an active in Brownies for two years and Junior Girl Scouts for one year. She sang in the children’s choir at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church for four years. Cassie was a student in the 3rd grade at Lakeview Elementary in Solon. Her loves were animals, art and those in need.

Cassandra is survived by her parents, Clifton and Debra Maier, her brother, Dalton Huff 8, three sisters; Victoria 4, Samantha 3 and Alexandria Maier 1, all of Solon; her grandparents, Thomas and Marilyn Coulter of Iowa City, Priscilla Maier of North Liberty, Robert D. Box of Callender, Iowa, Kenneth and Denise Maier of Eagle Grove, Iowa; great-grandparents, Wendall and Nona Coulter of Iowa City, Fred and Ella Parks of Iowa City, Lester and Virginia Maier of Alburnett, Iowa, Sam and Audrey Guzzo of Wyoming, Iowa, her great-great grandmother, Gwen Coulter of Iowa City. There are also numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, great aunts and great uncles.

Cassie’s corneas, heart valves and her week at Girl Scout Camp were donated to help other children in need.

Her brother Christopher preceded Cassandra in death.
