Jimmy Dale Young, 48, of 1757 Johnson Iowa Road, Homestead, died Thursday, April 3, 2003 after injuries from a car accident.

Funeral services will be Sunday 1:00 p.m. at Lensing Funeral Service, 605 Kirkwood Ave, Iowa City. Visitation will be on Saturday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Lensing. Following the services his body will be cremated. Memorials may be made to the Jimmy Dale Young Memorial Fund.

Jimmy was born October 1, 1954 in Houston, Missouri the son of Emogene (Stockstell) Young and Charles Jim Young. He served in the Unites States Navy during the Viet Nam war. He worked at NCS as a Laborer. On March 5, 1985 he was united in marriage to Mary Wilder in Las Vegas, Nevada.

His hobbies included hunting and fishing. He and Mary volunteered with Ragbrai for the last eight years driving trucks for the Bicyclist of Iowa City. He was an animal lover. His greatest love was spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Mary of Homestead, Iowa, his mother Emogene Young of Homestead, two daughters, Patricia Ann Witte and her husband Shane of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Jennifer Marie of Norfolk, Virginia, one brother, David Young and Susan Fisher of Solon, Iowa, one sister, Rebecca Reif and her husband Ken of Berwyn, Illinois, one nephew, Isaac Lyons, one granddaughter, Allyson, one grandson, Ira. He is also survived by many aunts and uncles.

He will be truly missed by his wife, family and many friends.
