Ryan Anthony Conger, age 19, of 2208 Hollywood Blvd, Iowa City died Wednesday, April 9, 2003 from injuries in a one-car accident in rural Johnson County.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 12, 2003, at the Prairie View United Methodist Church (address: 27131 Hwy 78) Ollie, Iowa with the Reverend Shirley Will officiating. Burial will be at the Van Orsdall Cemetery in Ollie. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, (Friday) at Grace United Methodist Church in Tiffin and on Saturday after 8:00 a.m. until services at the church in Ollie. A memorial fund has been established in his memory. Online condolences may be sent for Ryan’s family through our website @ www.gayandciha.com.

Ryan Anthony Conger was born March 22, 1984 in Iowa City the son of Thomas Leroy Conger and Jill Alice Kessel Conger. He attended and graduated from Clear Creek – Amana High School in 2002. He was active in Football for two years, a four-year letterman in golf, sang in chorus, and just really enjoyed school and his friends. He was currently attending Kirkwood Community College in their construction program. He has been employed as a construction management assistant for Hodge Construction of Iowa City. Ryan was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Tiffin. To those who knew and loved Ryan, you knew a young man full of life who loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and four wheeling. With family and friends, he loved to go bowling, shooting pool and just hanging out.

His family includes his parents, Jill Kessel Conger Heath and Steven Heath of Iowa City, and Tom Conger of Hedrick, Iowa; grandparents, Dwight and Zeeta Kessel of Washington, Iowa, Jim and MaryLou Conger of Ollie; great-grandmother, Wanda Conger of Pekin, Iowa, and great-grandfather Harry Messerschmitt of Sigourney, Iowa; and a sister, Emily Heath of Tipton; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
