Donald Kessler, 83

Donald I. Kessler, 83, of 1512 Dubuque Road died Monday at Mercy Hospital after a long illness.

Services will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Episcopal Church, with entombment in Memory Gardens Mausoleum. The Rev. Jason Parkin will officiate.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Donohue-Lensing Funeral Home, where a Masonic service will begin at 7 p.m. A memorial fund has been established.

Mr. Kessler was born June 17, 1908, in Iowa City. He married Mary Campbell Oct. 25, 1931, in Morrison, Ill. He was a graduate of City High School. He worked at Economy Advertizing for 57 years, retiring as the bindery foreman. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and the Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. No. 4. He was involved with Boy Scouts of America for many years.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Richard of Greeley, Colo., and James of Coralville; one daughter, Rosemary (Mrs. James) Fisher of Hudson, Wis.; one sister, Romola Eldeen of Bettendorf, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
