Michael Kessler, 85

Michael W. Kessler, 85, a resident of Solon Nursing Care Center since 1986, formerly of Nolan Settlement, died Friday at Mercy Hospital after short illness.

Funeral mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Bridget's Catholic Church in Nolan Settlement, with burial in St. Bridget's Cemetery. The Rev. Lou Leonhardt will officiate.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Brosh Funeral Home in Solon, where a rosary will be said at 7 p.m.

Mr. Kessler was born Aug. 16, 1904 in Nolan Settlement, son of Mary Maher Kessler and Frank Kessler. He was a farmer. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Tipton and St. Bridget's Catholic Church.

He is survived by one sister, Bridget Irving of Iowa City; one brother, Alois of Tipton; and nieces and nephews.

His parents died earlier.
