Joseph Kessler, 74

Joseph C. Kessler, 74, of 223 E. Fifth St. Solon, died Sunday at University Hospitals after a short illness.

Services will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Solon, with burial in Oakland Cemetery in Solon. The Rev. Francis Lenoch will officiate. A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today in the Brosh Funeral Home in Solon.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Brosh Funeral Home in Solon. A memorial fund has been established.

Mr. Kessler was born June 10, 1915, in Johnson County. He married Goldie Adams Umbdenstock Sept. 11, 1957, in Solon. He farmed in Cedar County until he retired to Solon in 1970.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Solon.

He is survived by his wife of Solon; one sister, Bridget Irving of Iowa City; two brothers, Alois Kessler or Tipton, and Michael Kessler of Solon, and several nieces and nephews. Five brothers and sisters died earlier.
