John Kessler

John Jacob Kessler, 86, of Solon, died Wednesday at the Solon Care Center following a short illness.

Services will be at 10:15 a.m. Friday at Brosh Funeral Home in Solon, and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Solon, with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. J.J. Fath will officiate. The parish rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Visitation was to have begun at 5 p.m. today.

He was born May 24, 1891, near Solon, to Jacob and Mary Broshek Kessler. He married Elizabeth M. Worrell Feb. 17, 1920, at Solon. he farmed and worked at Krob Elevator for more than 40 years.

He was a member of St. Mary's Church.

Survivors include his wife, two brothers, Andrew of Iowa City, and Robert, of Whittier, Calif., and one sister, Mary Connelly of Marshall, Mich.

Three brothers, one sister and one half sister died earlier.
