Paul L. Bowers, age 73, of 1025 East Burlington Street, Iowa City died Monday, March 10, 2003 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City from complications of a stroke.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 14, 2003, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City with the Reverend Judy Gingerich officiating. Mr. Bowers was born July 27, 1929, in Iowa City the son of George and Ida (Stagg) Bowers. He graduated from Iowa City City High School, and during the Korean conflict Paul served in the United States Army. Paul has live in his home on Burlington Street since 1940, for over thirty years he worked at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Iowa City.

His family includes a brother, Glenn Bowers of Coralville, and a sister, Shirley Sealuter of Clearwater, FL, five nieces and 1 nephew.
