Everett Lee Harman, “Poppie” 75, of North Liberty died peacefully at his home following a courageous battle with cancer, Thursday, November 16, 2006.

Funeral Services to celebrate Everett’s life will be held 10:00am Monday, November 20, 2006 at Lensing Oak Hill Funeral Service, Coralville, with Hospice Chaplain Mary Johnston
officiating.
Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00pm on Sunday at Lensing’s Oak Hill 210 Holiday Rd.-
Graveside Services will be held 2pm Tuesday at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Council Bluffs, IA. Friends may call from 1:00-2:00pm at Southview Bible Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Iowa City Hospice.

Everett was born September 3, 1931 in Macksville, Kansas, the son of Gabriel and Gertie Huffman Harman. On June 6, 1952 he married Mary Laneve Murphy in Cherokee, Oklahoma.

Everett served as a Sgt. in the US Army from 1952 to 54. He and his family lived in Hills, Iowa, until moving to North Liberty in 2004. Everett was a truck driver for Growmark/ FS Services.

Everett was a member of the Coralville American Legion. He enjoyed collectible cars,
stamps, fishing, coins, Hee Haw and old country music.

Everett is survived by his wife of 54 years and their daughters, Laura Bogs of Dallas Center, Iowa, Cynthia O’Leary of North Liberty and Lisa O’Rourke of Cedar Rapids;
His sister, Mildred Prescott of Larned, Kansas; eight grandchildren, Paul, Tina, Alicia,
Katie, Charles, Stuart, Curtis and Casey; nine great grandchildren: Tim, Ben, Storm, Makaila, Wade, Christopher, Teri, Faith and Hannah.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Reba, one granddaughter, Taylor, one great grandson, Paul Jr., and his siblings, Maurice, Lois, Laura, Alpha, and G.R.
