Amelia Pauline Calvert, 86 of Iowa City died peacefully at the Lone Tree Care Center after a short illness.
Amelia was born July 5, 1920 in Cedar County near West Branch the daughter of Thomas and Anna Marie (Karel) Jedlik. She married Roy Terrill on June 2, 1947. They made their home in West branch and had three daughters. They later divorced. She married Lysle G. Calvert on November 7, 1969, they built a house southwest of Iowa City. Amelia lived there until she moved into Iowa City in 2001.
Amelia was a cook at the West branch schools. She later worked in housekeeping at Mercy Hospital and at the U of I Iowa house were she retired.
Being raised on the farm, Amelia had a love for animals. She especially liked her cats. Amelia enjoyed crocheting and made many afghans, booties, and doll dresses.
She is survived by her three daughters, Bonnie Jo Terrill of Cedar Rapids, IA, Shelby Jean Grecian (Gary) of Riverside, IA, Donna Rae Wilson of Iowa City, IA. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; Lori, Tony and Steven Rios, Dan and Michael Snow and James, Jr. and Denise Wilson; Amelia also leaves behind 11 great grandchildren and was waiting for her first great great grandchild in June.Amelia is preceded in death by her parents, one , brother, John Jedlik and one sister, Florence Kingsbury a nephew and her husband.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Amenity Hospice or Lone Tree Care Center.
