Frank W. Dickens, 75 of Oxford died Saturday March 24, 2007 at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics after a lengthy illness.

He worked various jobs during his life but found most satisfaction and took pride in working at Sleepy Hollow.

Frank William Dickens was born September 8, 1931 in Hawkeye, Iowa the son of Otis Sears and Marie (Stier) Dickens. On July 12, 1953 he married Lillie Berridge in Oelwein, Iowa. Frank served in the United States Marine Corps. For many years he worked for the Amana Farms, he later worked as a custodian for the State of Iowa at Oakdale.

He is survived by his wife, Lillie Dickens of Oxford, IA, two daughters, Denise Ary (Roger) of Amana, IA, Deanna Dickens of Oxford, IA; three grandchildren, Kristopher(Maggie) Ary, Jason Ary and Megan (Dejan) Praljak. One great granddaughter, Kiera Ary, He is survived by his step mother, Margaret Dickens of Kasson, MN He is also survived by four half sisters, Arlene Snyder, Alpha, IA, Mary Dickens of Rochester, MN, Veronica Ludwig (Bruce) Kasson, MN, Joni Blounski (Paul) of St. Paul, MN; one step sister, Darlene Morris (Arthur) of Lamont, IA and one half-brother, Kevin Dickens.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and a half brother, Steven.

Memorials may be directed to Oxford United Methodist Church or Oxford First Responders.
