Johannes Francois “Frans” Laubscher, 47, died Monday April 16, 2007 at Mercy Hospital following a sudden illness.

Frans was born on December 10, 1959 in Pretoria, South Africa to Hardy and Cielie (Maritz) Laubscher. He married Christina Van Wyk on August 14, 1982 in Pretoria, South Africa. Frans moved to the United States in February of 2001. He worked for Stutsman’s as an Agronomist.

Frans is survived by his wife Christina of Iowa City, three children: EJ and fiancée Sarah of Colby, KS, Nico and Frans Jr. of Iowa City, his parents Hardy and Cielie, five siblings: Carien, Johan, Maritz, Marlene, Anneri, and his mother and father-in-laws: Nic and Tokkie Van Wyk all of South Africa.
