LaVronic “Nick” Barnes, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, August 31, 2007, at the age of 51, at home after a long illness. Nick was born March 16, 1956 in New Hebron, MS the son of Eddie and Ruby (Taylor) Barnes.

Nick moved to Iowa after graduating from High School. On June 20, 1992 he married Lorri Teufel in Iowa City. He worked at Turner Microphone before he went to work at Oral-B. He worked at Oral-B until his retirement in 2007 after twenty-eight years of service. He enjoyed music, bowling and fishing.

Nick is survived by his wife Lorri Barnes, his mother, Ruby Barnes of Chicago, step mother, Myrtle Barnes of Mississippi,and by his brothers and sisters: Darryl Barnes, Marie Barnes, Sue McCullum, Diane Davis, Gentry Clayton, Dwan Clayton, Kendra Barnes, Cassandra Newton-“KC”, Rene Smith, Jarvis Clayton, Sylvan Clayton, Carrissa Jones, Sherman Weems and Pansy Clayton. Nick is also survived by his aunts and uncles; Shirley J. Young, John Taylor (Betty) and Golda Mae Ross. Nick leaves behind many special friends and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded death by his father and many other relatives.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed in his name.
