Patricia A. “Pat” Richmond, 71, of Iowa City, died Saturday, September 1, 2007 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City after a valiant fight against cancer.
Pat was born May 7, 1936, the daughter of Roy & Marguerite (Whitson) Kroymann. Graduating from Clutier High School, Pat received her LPN degree from St. Luke’s School of Nursing. She later returned to college and received her RN degree, and certifications as a radiologic technician and certified medical assistant. Pat originally worked for nursing homes in the Clutier area and then worked for Mercy Hospital in Iowa City for 14 years. She later worked as an industrial nurse at Amana Refrigeration in Amana, Atrium Village in Hills, Lantern Park Nursing & Rehab Center in Coralville and for Dr. Sadler’s medical practice in Kalona.
Pat then worked for Louis Rich in West Liberty and most recently as a cashier at the Iowa City Wal-Mart. She was a member of Christ The King Lutheran Church in Iowa City.
Survivors include her husband Al Richmond of Iowa City; seven children, Connie Pearson-Sakacs (Eddie) of South Bend, Indiana, James Pearson and Larry Pearson, both of North Liberty, Terry Pearson of Clarence, Iowa, Kevin (Janet) Pearson of Elmhurst, Illinois, Kathie “Kate” (Larry) Miller of North Liberty, Robert Pearson of West Liberty, Shelly Richmond of Iowa City and Scott Richmond of Ausberger Germany; twenty one grandchildren and one great grand daughter; one great grandchild due to arrive in December, a sister, Rosemary Cahill (Tom) of Iowa City and a brother, Robert (Mary) Kroymann of Traer, Iowa. Patricia is also survived by her Great Dane, Duchess and her Maltese Buffy.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents.
