Hazel F. Muller, 82, of 420 Iowa Street, Hills, IA died Saturday September 22, 2007 at Iowa City Rehabilitation and Care Center following a lengthy illness. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Hills First Responders in Hazel’s name.

Hazel was born on March 26, 1925 in Wheatland, IA to Arnold H. and Mona (Thompson) Fox. Hazel married Kenneth Muller on June 12, 1947 in Iowa City, IA. They moved to Hills in 1972. Hazel was an account clerk for the University of Iowa Library for 30 years before retiring in 1986. She was a volunteer at the Senior Center and the UIHC. Hazel loved to make quilts, do crossword puzzles and read books. She was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan, especially women’s basketball. She loved spending time with her family and following her grandchildren’s activities.

Hazel is survived by her husband Kenneth of Hills; four children -- Mary Jane Bowman (Thomas) of Iowa City, Thomas (Belinda) of Atkins, Jon (Dawn) of Marshalltown, Patrick of Hills; a brother Roger Fox of Lowden; eleven grandchildren: Brian (Shantel) & Jeff Bowman, Elizabeth Bunker (Jason), and Tim, Meg, Kelly, Kayla, Jordan, Tyler, Trevor, & Trenton Muller; and two great-grandchildren: Elizabeth Bowman and Abigail Bunker.

Hazel was preceded in death by her parents and twin grand-daughters.
