Judy A. Hesson, 57, of 1553 Wild Prairie Drive passed away peacefully, Friday, October 5, 2007 at UIHC, in the company of family and friends.

Judy was born July 19, 1950 in Iowa City, the daughter of Stanley and Dorothy Watson
Miller. She was a 1968 graduate of City High School and attended the University of Iowa. Judy married William Hesson on August 13, 1988.

Judy had been employed for thirty years at UIHC, where she was the manager of patient scheduling and registration, until she resigned to become the first manager of Melrose Meadows Retirement Community. Her vision and spirit were instrumental in the creation of the Melrose Meadows community. Judy focused all of her energy on her family, her friends and Melrose Meadows. She was an inspiration to all who knew her, and will be greatly missed.

Judy was a simple American spirit who loved pop music, all things Disney, and A.J. Foyt. Judy’s favorite flowers were always white.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to all those who took such wonderful
care of Judy during her extended illness.

Judy is survived by her husband Bill and son Tyler John Gall, both of Iowa City;William R. Gall, the father of her son; her mother-in-law, Dorothy H. Loehr of Coralville; and special friends, Jerry and Kathy Cummings of Indianapolis and Dean and Bev Yoder of Iowa City.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Luke 8:16 “No one lights a lamp and hides it in a jar or puts it under a bed. Instead,He puts it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light.”

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Iowa City Hospice or the Iowa City Friends of the Animal Shelter Foundation.
