Bernice “Bea” Fitzpatrick, 85, of 1812 Windsor Court in Iowa City, died Sunday, July 20, 2008 at Crestview Nursing & Rehab Center in West Branch from complications of Alzheimer’s disease.

Bea was born July 5, 1923 in Seneca, Kansas, the daughter of Frank & Bertha (Lorson) Block.
She graduated from high school in Seneca – moving to Iowa City in 1946. Bea married Glen M. Fitzpatrick September 20, 1948 in Seneca. She was co-owner of Moeller Account Service, retiring in 1974. She then worked for the Women’s Athletics Department in accounting at the University of Iowa.

She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and St. Patrick’s Altar & Rosary Society.

Bea is survived by her sons, Michael Fitzpatrick (Bonnie) of Evergreen, Colorado and Kevin Fitzpatrick of Iowa City; sisters, Helen Hammes and Grace Strathman (Robert), all of Seneca, Kansas, and a brother, Bill Block of Kansas City, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Glen in 1993 and a sister. Ada.
