Richard D. Blakey, 71, of 323 Central Ave SE, Swisher, died Thursday July 24, 2008 at his home of cancer.

Richard was born on April 9, 1937 in Rock Island, IL to William and Irene (Boon) Blakey. He served in the Army and Marine Corps during the Korean War. Richard was a member of King of Glory Lutheran Church in Swisher.

Richard is survived by his mother Irene Wilson, three sons; Richard (Shelley) of Boone, IA, Everett Blakey of Swisher, IA, Harold (Roberta Semler) West Branch, IA, twelve grandchildren, two sisters; Mildred “Darlene” Miller of Swisher, IA and Carolyn Clark (Robert) of Valrico, FL, a brother Robert Robison of Franklin, WI, four half siblings; Judy, Tommy Blakey, Bobby Blakey, Billy Blakey.

Richard was preceded in death by his father.
