Cecelia R. Zervakis, 97, of 320 South Dubuque Street died Monday, February 10, 2003, at her home following a sudden illness.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, February 19, 2003, at 10AM at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with the Rev. James Vrba officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-7PM Tuesday at Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service, where a Parish Vigil Service will be held at 4:30PM.

A memorial fund has been established.

Mrs. Zervakis was born November 4, 1905, in Cedar Valley, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Mary Sponar Cizek.

For many years she lived in Cedar Rapids where she was a housekeeper at St. Luke’s School of Nursing. In 1980, Mrs. Zervakis moved to Iowa City where she enjoyed being close to her family. Cecelia was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, AARP and she enjoyed traveling.

She is survived by two loving daughters, Lorraine Clark of Sacramento, California, and Delores Frederick of Castro Valley, California; two granddaughters, Janet Jones and her husband Ken of Houston, Texas, and Phillip Clark of Seattle, Washington; and one sister, Lillian Abbott of Iowa City

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Nick Zervakis; two sisters, Agnes and Mildred; and nieces and nephews.
