CORALVILLE

Burnell K. Rasmussen, 58, of 725 13th Avenue, Coralville, died Wednesday evening, February 5, 2003, at her home in Coralville following complications of breast cancer.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 8, 2003, at the Oak Hill Cemetery, Coralville. Lensing’s Oak Hill in Coralville is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Burnell K. Rasmussen Memorial Fund.

Burnell K. Rasmussen was born April 4, 1944, in Newell, Iowa, the daughter of Marvin and Edna (Franzmeier) Kischer. She was raised and educated in the Newell area and later attended college in Omaha. She was united in marriage to Kent A. Rasmussen on June 7, 1964, in Newell. The couple made their home in the Iowa City / Coralville area, where she raised her children. She later was employed at TG & Y, Target, and was currently employed at Scheels All Sports.

She especially enjoyed her family, animals, namely her cats, doing crafts and sewing.

Burnell is survived by her husband, Kent A. Rasmussen of Coralville, two sons, Brett A. Rasmussen of Coralville and Steve M. Rasmussen of Coralville and his significant other, Deb Allen of Mt. Vernon, and her daughter, Brenda L. Corso and her husband Dave of Iowa City.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
