Lula Alcala, 80, of Coralville died Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at her home
following an extended illness.

Funeral Services will be held at 1pm, Saturday, March 21, 2009 at Lensing’s Oak Hill, 210 Holiday Road, Coralville. Friends may call after noon Saturday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Old Section of St. Joseph’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Systems Unlimited.

Lula was born May 13, 1928 in Iowa City, the daughter of Lawrence and Georgia Thelma Peterson Alcala.

Lula was raised in Glenwood, Iowa, returning to Iowa City in 1949 where she was
a resident at Chatham Oaks. Lula has been a longtime resident of Systems Unlimited. She was very social, enjoyed friends and liked to crochet and shop. Lula had been employed at Goodwill Industries.

Lula is survived by her sister, Theresa Farrell of Davenport; numerous nieces and nephews; good friends, Ray and Kay Cambridge of North Liberty; and all those caring friends with Systems Unlimited who were instrumental in increasing Lula’s quality of life.
