Edna L. Dolan, 92, formerly of Hills, left this earth to now be with her husband, Friday, April 10, 2009 at the Sigourney Care Center.

Visitation will be held Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City .
Funeral Services will be Tuesday at 10:30 am at Lensing’s with Pastor Jeff Tackaberry officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorials be directed to Alzheimer’s Research, c/o The U of I Foundation.

Edna was born December 27, 1916 in Chapel, Nebraska, the daughter of Joe and Lula (Stutzman) Gingerich. She graduated from Sharon High School in Sharon Center and married Robert Dolan February 26, 1939 in Iowa City. Edna and her husband operated the Hills General Store (Hills, Iowa) from 1945 – 1973. She later worked in foodservice for the Iowa City Community School District, retiring in 1981.

Survivors include her sons, Ed Dolan (Cindy) of Edwards, Missouri and Steve Dolan (Lynn) of Iowa City;
grandchildren, Kelly, Greg, Loren, Shawn, Scott and Nick;
great-grandchildren, Heather, Britt, Jenna, Bradley, Emma, Erin, Addison , Larkyn and Justice;
brothers, Delmar Gingerich (Betty) of McGregor, Iowa and Don Gingerich (Ellen) of Stover, Missouri;
sisters, Leona Boller (Martin) and Marge Gingerich , all of Kalona and brother in law, Bill Williams of Iowa City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband , brother Paul Gingerich and 2 sisters, Vesta Miller and Maretta Yoder.
