S. D. FOUNTAIN DIES AFTER LONG ILLNESS

Passes away at S. u. I. Hospital in Iwoa City --
Funeral Held Sunday

Samuel Denver Fountain, a lifelong resident of this community, passed away at the university hospital in Iowa City early last Friday morning after a long illness. Although he had been in failing health since last April, he was bedfast only a few days before he passed away. Being afflicted with Bright's disease, he was taken to the hospital for treatment on Monday of last week and while there he also suffered an attack of pneumonia.

Samuel Denver Fountain, son of Sarah and William Fountain, was born Sept 11, 1869, and died Dec. 15, 1922, aged 53 years, 3 months and 4 days.

He is survived by his aged mother, as well as by two brothers and four sisters, who are as follows:
Luther W., Becker, Minn.; Henry E., Haigler, Neb., Alda, wife of Levi Fountain, Iowa City; Emma and Stella at home; Mrs. Rhoda A Smith, Lone Tree. His father and four brothers preceded him in death.

Mr. Fountain was a faithful son and brother and kind neighbor. His death is mourned by many friends in this communtiy.

Funeral services were held at the home three and one-half miles northwest of Lone Tree Sunday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. E. D. Lantz. Burial was made in the Fountain Cemetery.

The pallbearers were Fred Thomas, Art Thomas, Al. Thomas, James Sims, Lloyd Hamilton, Thos. Matthes.
