Services:No services are planned. Jane deeded her body to the University of Iowa College of Medicine. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the University of Iowa Foundation.

Lillian “Jane” Wehrkamp, 77, formerly of 2421 10th Street in Coralville, died Monday, January 12, 2009 at Lantern Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Coralville after a short illness.

Jane was born December 2, 1931 in Clarinda, Iowa, the daughter of Albert & Leila (Shum) Wehrkamp. Growing up in Clarinda, she graduated from Clarinda High School and attended Clarinda Community College and later received her B.A. degree in Psychology from the University of Iowa. She worked for the University of Iowa for 32 years as a word clerk / secretary, retiring in 1985.

She was a member of the American Business Women’s Association and the Iowa City Bowling Association. She was a faithful supporter of the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Survivors include a brother Glenn (Yvonne) Wehrkamp of Waverly, Iowa and a sister Neola Wehrkamp of Shenandoah, Iowa and several nieces and nephews.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Charles.
