DEATH TAKES JOHN STRUB

Rites for Aged Resident Will Be Held Friday Afternoon

John E. Strub, 81, died at his home, 515 North Van Buren Street at 6:45 Tuesday evening following a short illness.

He is survived by his widow: four sons, Edward, Maynard, Charles and Frank, all of Iowa City; five grandchildren, John Strub, Jr., now in the service overseas, and Rodney, Robert, Donald and Frank Jr., all of Iowa City; two brothers, George Strub, of Port Orchard, Wash., and William Strub, of Iowa City; and two sisters, Mrs. Agusta Ruppert, of Morning Sun, Iowa and Mrs. Mary Doyle, of Cedar Rapids; and several nieces and nephews.

Masonic funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Hohenschuh mortuary with the Rev. R. M. Krueger officiating. Burial will be made in Oakland cemetery. The remains are at the Hohenschuh mortuary.
