ORLOFF CRAIN DIES AT HOME
Rites for Lifelong Resident of County, 90, to Be Saturday
Orloff Lee Crain, 90, lifelong Johnson resident, died at 4 p.m. Wednesday at his farm home six miles southwest of Iowa City on Iowa Highway No. 1. He had been in failing health for several months.
Mr. Crain was born near Solon March 5, 1857, the son of John and Rachel Crain. He was married in 1881 to Adeline Horton, who died 10 years later.
His second marriage was to Clara Nass, and the couple were farm residents for many years in Pleasant Valley township. She preceded him in death in 1941.
Surviving Mr. Crain are five children: Mrs. Mabel Baldwin, Iowa City, Clifford Crain, Pasadena, Calif., Mrs. Paul Burroughs, Seattle, Blanche Crain, Seattle, and a son Fred, with whom he made his home.
A son, Charles, also preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Oathout Funeral chapel, with burial in the Lone Tree cemetery. The Rev. Donavan G. Hart will officiate.
