Donna F. Wyjack, 73 of 56 Erobi Lane, Iowa City died Tuesday, January 8, 2008, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City from cancer.

A gathering for family and friends to remember the Donna's life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 12, 2008, at the I.O.O.F Lodge Hall @ 1839 B Street, Iowa City, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Iowa City Hospice. Online condolences may be sent for her family through the web @ www.gayandciha.com.

Donna Fae Wyjack was born July 20, 1934, in West Liberty, Iowa the daughter of Charles H. and Nellie E. (Hayes) Morrison, Jr. She was a 1952 graduate of West Branch High School. Donna had been married to L.C. Gates. She joined the West Liberty Rebekah Lodge in April 13, 1975. Donna was mustered into Iowa City LAPM #29 on October 22, 1986. She was a past President of the local auxiliary. She transferred her membership to Carnation Rebekah Lodge #376 in Iowa City on November 14, 1986. She held the office of Noble Grand in the years 1989, 1990, 1997, and from 1999 through October 2004. She held many appointed offices in Carnation Rebekah Lodge #376 and served as District Delegate to the Rebekah Assembly of Iowa in 2002-2003. She was District Deputy President in 1995 and 2003. Donna held several appointed offices in the Rebekah Assembly of Iowa. She was also a member of Good Samaritan Encampment Auxiliary #5 having joined on March 6, 1987. She was Chief Matriarch in 1991 and since held several appointed offices and served this past year as Treasurer. This year she was serving as Grand Senior Warden of the Grand LEA of Iowa. Donna was also a member of Ladies Auxiliary Patriarch Militants and was installed as State President of that organization for one year in 2006. She served as Department Association President from 2006-2007.

She was a volunteer at Iowa City Rehabilitation Center having started there when her Mother was a patient several years ago. Donna was a friend to many over the years and probably, enjoyed the most, being an honorary member of the Earl Stimmel family. She was a presence at most family gatherings and as Sandy stated, "she made her Dad's life much happier and richer by having her assisting him at the care center."

Her family includes her brother, Ted Morrison and his wife, Gertrude Lucine Morrison of West Branch; nephews, Rick (Kim) Morrison of Tuscola, Illinois, Jeff (Debbie) Morrison of Muscatine, Iowa; niece, Bev (Keith) Earley of Columbus, Indiana; two great nieces and six great nephews.
