Nord R. Siglin, 92, a resident of Lantern Park Nursing & Rehab Center in Coralville, Iowa, died there Saturday, December 7, 2002.
Mr. Siglin will be cremated and a joint memorial service and interment for he and his wife, Edith Siglin, who died in August of 2000, will be private in Mason City, Iowa. Memorials may be made in their names to the First Baptist Church, 125 East State Street, Mason City, Iowa, 50401. Arrangements are being handled by Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City. 319-338-8171
Mr. Siglin was born April 10, 1910 in Linn Grove, Iowa, to Roy and Victoria Siglin. He married Edith L. Vaux on December 6, 1930. The Siglin’s lived most of their adult life in Mason City.
Mr. Siglin served in the United States Army during World War II. He was injured in the Italian Campaign and later was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star citations.
Mr. Siglin is survived by one son, Verlyn V. Siglin and his wife Diane of Iowa City; two grandsons, Stephen N. Siglin and his wife, Belinda of Iowa City and Douglas V. Siglin and his wife, Kristin of Washington, D.C.; three great grandchildren; one sister, Celeste Giese of Clearwater, Florida and a brother, Bayard Siglin of Lakeland, Florida.
He was also preceded in death by his parents.
