The Press Citizen with picBernadette Lancial, 74, of 400 S. Dubuque Street, Apt. 1414, Iowa City died Wednesday, December 4,2002 at her home of cancer.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am, Saturday, December 7, 2002 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Father James Vrba officiating. Graveside Services will be Saturday at 1PM at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Albia, Iowa. Friends may call Friday from 4:00 to 7:00PM at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service where a Parish Vigil Service will be held at 6:45 PM. Memorials may be directed to Iowa City Hospice
Bernadette was born September 18, 1928 in Albia, the daughter of Joseph and Irene Connolly Beadle. She married William Lancial in Albia, Iowa.
Bernadette was a longtime residence of Des Moines where she worked as a Nursing Assistant at Iowa Lutheran Hospital caring for new born infants. While in Des Moines she was a member of Visitation Catholic Church.
In March of 1988 she moved to Iowa City, where she worked in the dietary department of the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. She loved her family and friends. Bernadette was a bingo enthusiast.
She is survived by Five sons; Bill Lancial and his wife Lynette of Iowa City, Iowa, Jason Lancial of Des Moines, Iowa, Mark Lancial of Iowa City, Iowa, Tim Lancial and his wife Julie of Des Moines, Iowa, Dan Lancial of Des Moines, Iowa,
Three daughters:Chris Roth and her husband Randy of Naperville, Illinois, Theresa Miller and her husband Terry of Des Moines, Iowa and LeeAnn Higgins of Des Moines, Iowa. She is also survived by her ten grandchildren, Andy, Brandon, Lindsay, Ryan, Jaclyn, Brittany, Natalie, Kaylee, Danielle and Emily and by one brother, Paul Beadle and his wife Marlene of Albia, Iowa.She was preceded in death by one son, Anthony and two brothers, Gerry and Stephen.
