LAURENCE PETERS
SOLON - Laurence M. Peters, 77, of Solon, died Friday at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City after a short illness.

Services will be Tuesday at 9:45 a.m. the Brosh Funeral Home in Solon and at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with the Rev. J.J. Fath officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military rites by the Stinocher American Legion Post. The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Solon Care Center.

He was born near Solon, July 15, 1900, and lived in the area most of his life. He married the former Frances Stryncl.

He was a retired barber and also managed a farm near Cedar Rapids for 20 years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II serving overseas, a member of the Stinocher American Legion Post at Solon, a board member of the Solon Care Center and a member of St. Mary's Church at Solon.

Surviving are his wife, three sisters, Mrs. Earl Bahlmer of Solon, and Louise and Irma, both of Chicago, Ill., and three brothers, William of Chicago, Marcellus of Solon and Cecil of Cedar Rapids.
